This announcement came after a productive bilateral meeting between the two leaders at Palácio do Planalto in Brasília on July 9th. Prabowo warmly welcomed the plan, highlighting its potential to enhance cooperation between the two countries, especially in the realms of trade and investment. He emphasized the significance of translating these agreements into tangible actions to foster real and concrete collaboration. Recognizing the shared interests and abundant resources of both Indonesia and Brazil, Prabowo lauded Brazil’s agricultural and bioenergy advancements as exemplary. He expressed Indonesia’s interest in learning from Brazil’s expertise in these areas and appreciated Lula’s support in sending technical teams to study Brazilian innovations further. Prabowo’s visit to Brazil for the BRICS Summit in Rio de Janeiro was part of his broader engagement with the country. As President Lula plans to visit Indonesia in October, Prabowo expressed his anticipation for hosting a grand celebration in Jakarta for Lula’s upcoming 80th birthday.
