President of the Republic of Indonesia, Prabowo Subianto, proudly announced at the Indonesian Solidarity Party (PSI) Congress in Solo that the government’s Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) program has garnered international recognition. The program, aimed at providing nutritious meals to schoolchildren, pregnant women, and breastfeeding mothers, has not only been successful but has also caught the attention of other countries.
Prabowo revealed that as of July 2025, the MBG program has benefited over six million individuals, mostly children and pregnant women. He expressed optimism that the number of beneficiaries will continue to increase rapidly, with the government aiming to reach 20 million beneficiaries by August 2025, surpassing even that target if all goes well.
The MBG program is a crucial part of the government’s efforts to combat malnutrition, promote a healthy future generation, and support local food producers and vendors. It also plays a vital role in promoting social equity and early human development, contributing significantly to the long-term development of the nation. The success of the program has led to discussions about it at global diplomatic forums, further highlighting the impact and importance of this initiative in Indonesia and beyond.
