President Prabowo Subianto of Indonesia warmly received President Dina Ercilia Boluarte Zegarra of Peru at the Merdeka Palace in Jakarta. The state ceremony was made even more special with the presence of around 3,000 students from various schools in the capital. President Boluarte’s motorcade, accompanied by a grand escort, arrived at the palace from the National Monument (Monas). Upon arrival, she was personally greeted by President Prabowo and together they stood on the ceremonial podium while the national anthems of both Peru and Indonesia were played. They then inspected the honor guard and paid their respects to their national flags before introducing their official delegations. The bilateral meeting between the two leaders aimed at strengthening the relations between Indonesia and Peru, both being members of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC). This reciprocal visit by President Boluarte follows President Prabowo’s official visit to Peru last year, highlighting the ongoing diplomatic exchange between the two nations.
