Andra Farizki Ramdhani, a 10th-grade student at People’s High School (SRMA 10) in South Jakarta, is a testament to resilience and perseverance despite growing up without a father. The People’s School initiative, spearheaded by President Prabowo Subianto, has provided Andra with new opportunities for education, giving him hope for a brighter future.
Despite the financial challenges his family faces, Andra expresses gratitude for the People’s School, which has enabled him to pursue a proper education. Transitioning to dorm life at the boarding school has been a mix of challenges and rewards for Andra. While he misses his family, the vibrant atmosphere and camaraderie with his friends have made his experience fulfilling.
Andra’s days are filled with a structured routine, starting with early mornings, prayers, and activities before classes. Despite moments of monotony, Andra finds solace in the friendships he has built with his roommates, Fatir and Reza, who have become like family to him.
The facilities at SRMA 10 have exceeded Andra’s expectations, providing a conducive environment for learning and staying focused. Active in extracurricular activities like judo and the student flag-raising team, Andra’s ambition to excel academically and athletically is unwavering.
With dreams of becoming a judo athlete and pursuing higher education at the Defense University (Unhan), Andra is determined to make his mother proud. Despite facing doubts from others, Andra finds strength in his mother’s unwavering support and prayers, driving him to succeed.
Grateful for the opportunity to study without financial burden at the People’s School, Andra sees it as a gateway to hope for underprivileged children like himself. The school’s inclusive approach, devoid of extra costs like uniforms, has made education accessible for students who are determined to learn and grow.
For Andra, the People’s School represents more than just an educational institution—it is a place where dreams take flight and independence is fostered. With resilience, determination, and his mother’s love and prayers, Andra believes that his dreams are well within reach.
