In August 13, 2025, it was revealed that farmers have always been a priority for President Prabowo Subianto, as shared by Dedek Prayudi, a Senior Expert at the Presidential Communication Office (PCO). Prayudi mentioned two significant moments that shaped Prabowo’s deep connection with farmers, dating back to his military days and his leadership of the Indonesian Farmers Harmony Association (HKTI). This was highlighted during the grand corn harvest event for the Food Security Program in Jenggalu Village, Seluma Regency, Bengkulu Province, where both President Prabowo and Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka were present. The program aims to enhance food security in Indonesia, especially in light of global uncertainties that underscore the importance of reducing dependency on foreign food supplies. Prayudi emphasized the role of government support in increasing crop yields, encouraging farmers’ motivation, and ensuring the efficient distribution of subsidized fertilizers to maximize agricultural productivity. Kelik Budianan, the Head of the Food Data and Information Center at the National Food Agency (Pusdatin Bapanas), expressed the agency’s commitment to supporting Prabowo’s initiative by collaborating with the State Logistics Agency (Bulog) to absorb farmers’ harvests. The integration of supply chains for farmers and livestock breeders was also discussed to stabilize prices and support agricultural communities.Various stakeholders, including government officials and representatives from agricultural organizations, endorsed the efforts to uplift the farming sector and promote sustainable practices to boost food security in Indonesia.
